The Race Out Back

Like much of my subject matter this was painted from my backyard with the subject being my neighbors upstairs back apartment. I have drawn this before but never painted it. The sky took on more blue as time went by but I was intent on sticking with the paler version I initially saw. Suddenly things changed pretty quick and I decided to count my losses and raced to wrap it up as quickly as possible.

Studio Time

 It has been months since I have posted anything, the main reason being is I have been busy in the studio and then it just became too hot and muggy to enjoy getting out there. Instead I set up my French easel and started a series of paintings based on old family photos. These are all fairly small, most being 8x10 and all are on either gessoed plywood or canvas board.

Back Yard

 I have not had a chance to paint outdoors for quite awhile. Most of my work has been in the studio but I finally had a chance to get outside a couple weeks ago and try out my new half box French Easel. This was done fairly quickly, one and half hours and is an 8x10 oil on board.
